This experience will never be forgotten. From the Zucchini muffins to the cleaning of the fish. This family knows how to make you feel like a professional, real Alaskan fisherman. We traveled 4000 miles to experience Alaska and this crew allowed us to do just that . Thankyou Jand J we shall return.

In reply to Tara Beth O’Neal. Unfortunately, we can no longer offer night by night camping due to the incredibly large amount of people that camp here for the festival. It is a flat fee of $100 whether it is for one night or for the whole weekend.

All of our cabins and electric sites are already reserved for Salmonfest weekend. We will have tent camping or dry camper parking with no hook-ups on a “first-come, first-served” basis on the 10 acre field, no reservations. It is $100 for the weekend (Thursday until Monday) per tent or vehicle that you sleep in. When you check in you will receive a flag to display indicating that you have paid for your site.

First Come, first served area does not open until Thursday morning.

There may still be other campgrounds in Ninilchik with availability and there is a shuttle bus that goes from campgrounds to the festivities.

What a fantastic trip. Captain Bubba and Dillon were the best. Very professional, courteous and fun to be around. Limits were caught. I highly recommend J & J Smart Charters.

Great day of Halibut fishing! Nosto’s (John Smart) crew, Captain Bubba and First Mate Dillon, did an Outstanding job of putting us on the fish. One spot and we limited out. They take care of everything. Show up with your fishing license and let them do all the work….except for reeling in the barn doors. Notso’s crew cleaned our fish, vacuum packed them, and stored them in a freezer until we left the next day. We used the campground and had amazing views. This is my second time fishing with J&J Smart Charters and I would recommend them to anyone!!!! Thanks again Notso!!!!!

That is a neat looking halibut with the black tail and fin on the white side. I’ve never seen one like that!

Val and I had a wonderful trip today with the fabulous Captain Sarah and her witty deck hands. They kept our bait on the bottom and our lines tight. We reeled up some fabulous fish and took home a cooler full. THANK YOU for sharing the passion for the sport and keeping us entertained with the safety briefings, on board entertainment, and the fabulous rendition of “We will rock you” at the end of our voyage… truly a once in a lifetime experience. We will be back next year!
